Monday - Day 3,
This morning, continue your tour of Munich with visits to two of the city's most important churches Pope Benedict XVI served before being appointed Archbishop. Continue to view the University of Munich, where Pope Benedict XVI studied philosophy and theology. From here, visit the 15th century Church of Our Lady in the city centre. Proceed to Freising, where you will have time for lunch on your own. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of Freising city, the seat of bishops since 739 and one of the most important spiritual centers in Bavaria. Visit the Freising Cathedral where Pope Benedict XVI, formerly Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, was first ordained   as a priest in 1951, along with his brother George. Following a visit to St. Mary's Cathedral, continue to Regensburg this afternoon.  (B, D): REGENSBURG

Tuesday - Day 4,

Along the walk, view the University of Regensburg, where Pope Benedict XVI taught theology before being named Archbishop, and later, Cardinal of Munich and Freising. Wednesday - Day 5,
Depart Regensburg for Marktl am Inn (Diocese of Passau), where Pope Benedict XVI was born and baptized in 1927 as Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger. View the house of his birth, then continue to the small Bavarian town of Altötting.  Upon arrival, visit the Chapel of Grace, one of the most visited religious shrines in Germany, where you will find the sacred icon of the Black Madonna housed therein. Celebrate Mass, and afterwards, enjoy time for lunch on your own. After lunch, continue to Traunstein, a small village near the Austrian border, where Pope Benedict XVI spent his childhood and youth. Thursday - Day 6,

This morning, drive to Hohenschwangau to visit the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein, hidden away in the densely forested mountains of southwest Bavaria. Following your castle visit, continue to visit the Pilgrimage Church of Wies, a proclaimed World Heritage Site. Enjoy lunch on your own at a local restaurant nearby. After our visit we continue on to Munich, where we have time to explore the city on our own. Oberammergau Passion Play   Friday – Day 7

Today we attend the world-renowned Passion Play performance, one of the highlights of our trip.  The play is setacts, beginning in mid-afternoon with a break for an included dinner, (there will be time to visit the wood-carving shops), and completing in the late evening.  With performances running every decade since 1634, making it the longest running performance in history, the Oberammergau Passion Play features more than 2,000 Oberammergauers, singers, actors, and instrumentalists who bring to life the very events that powerfully marked Christianity's central source of love and hope. 1) Complete one application form for each person joining the retreat. Do not forget to sign the application form before mailing.

 

2) Initial deposit of $200. is required to ensure enrollment. 2nd deposit of $800 – March 1, 2009 - 3rd deposit of $800 by August 1, 2009.  Balance must be paid 120 days prior to departure in 2010.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS


DEPOSIT & REGISTRATION:

Initial $200 per person deposit is required at time of booking, plus passenger’s full name (as it appears on the passport), mailing address & telephone number.  Deposit schedule as follows:

Additional deposit of $800. by March 1, 2009.

Additional deposit of $800. by August 1, 2009.

Final payment 120 days prior to departure. Plus fuel & departure taxes of $300 +/- at final billing .  If a booking is made within 120 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking. 

 

FORM OF PAYMENT:

In order to speed the processing of deposits & final payments, please note the departure date on deposit & balance of payment checks.  Deposit checks must be accompanied by an application with the names as they appear on passports, addresses & telephone numbers.

A 3 1/2% surcharge is added to your credit card transaction to cover merchant processing fees, if paid by credit card.

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:

A valid passport is required for travel.  If you are not a US citizen, please consult your local embassy, or consulate for visa requirement.  Passengers are responsible to ensure that the names printed on the invoice match the first & last names written on the passport.  Any name changes or corrections could be subjected to airline rebooking fee of up to $200 per ticket.  Name changes must be advised in writing.

 

FINAL DOCUMENTS:

Final documents are issued upon receipt of final payment only & within 3 weeks of departure.  Documents are not guaranteed if final payment is not received in time. P.O. Box cannot be used for mailing documents.  Payments must be made in full before documents are mailed.

From 120 days or less prior to depart: 100% total cost remaining.

Request for a refund must be in writing.  Refunds will be issued within 30 days of receipt of written notice. 

 

AIRLINE CLAUSE:

Airlines are not to be responsible for any act, omission or events during the time passengers are not on board.

 

RETURNED CHECKS

 Returned checks are subject to a fee of $30.  No changes of names are permitted.  Cancellation fees will not be waived due to illness.  We strongly recommend travel insurance. We recommend offering Travelex Insurance. (www.travelexinsurance.com).  Protection cannot be added after final payment.

 

CURRENCY FLUCTUATIONS:

In case of currency fluctuations we reserve the right to adjust price accordingly up until final payment. We will examine the prices approximately 60 days prior  and advise on changes.

 

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

Hotel accommodations are based on twin bedded rooms. No reductions for triple rooms. No single rooms in Oberammeragau. Doubles & triples only. Single accommodations are limited to 10% of traveling passengers.

 

AIR TRANSPORTATION PENALTIES:

Once airline tickets are issued they are non-refundable.  Airlines do not allow change of names. Thereafter, All Star Travel has no other obligations.  Prices are subject to change in airfares, hotel and currency rates effective at the time of departure.   Fuel & airport taxes are not included in the price of the tour.

 

PRICE GUARANTEE:

Due to exchange rates & published airfare changes, we can only guarantee prices when and if the trip is paid in full.

 

PRINTING DISCLAIMER:

All Star Travel is not responsible for any typographical or printer’s errors.

 

MEALS:

Breakfast & most dinners are included. There is no refund for unused meals.

 

HEALTH:

All physical infirmities such as blindness, impaired vision, deafness, hearing loss, chronic conditions as well as physical disabilities must be mentioned in the trip application.  If the passenger's condition requires a special nurse, assistant or traveling companion, the passenger is responsible for making arrangements to have them accompany him/her on the trip.  Motor coaches in most European countries do not have wheelchair lifts, nor are their handicapped facilities in most of these countries.

 

RESPONSIBILTY CLAUSE: 

All Star Travel acts only in the capacity of agent and accepts no responsibility for any services of any aircraft, motor coach, automobile, or any other conveyance used in connection with this tour; nor for additional expense due to delays, loss or accident to passenger or baggage occasioned by such service or sickness, acts of governments, wars, (whether declared or not), hostilities, civil disturbances, riots, thefts, epidemics, medical or customs regulations, or from causes beyond All Star Travel's control, weather, quarantine, or from whatever cause.  All such losses or expenses shall be borne by the passenger.  All arrangements for air transportation are made by the respective airline companies, which companies are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event after the passenger has disembarked from the plane.  The usual passage contract in use by the airline, when issued shall constitute the sole contract between said airlines and the purchaser of the tour and/or the passenger.  All Star Travel reserves the right to amend the itinerary should it be found necessary for the benefit of the members of the group or for other reasons.

 

TRIP CANCELLATION & BAGGAGE INSURANCE: 

Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended, as is baggage insurance. We recommend Travelex insurance.   No refund for unused portion of the trip can be made.  All air, land and guide services, hotel, restaurants, and all other services furnished by All Star Travel are provided by contractors who are independent and do not act for or on behalf of All Star Travel.  All Star Travel shall not be liable for any inconvenience, loss, damage, or injury arising out of or in connection with such contractor services.
